Greg stalls his AJP PR7 in a deep puddle in Happy Valley. No one else wanted to get wet. Davy grabbed a tow rope. Adam lit a fag. Wil took photos. Wales. 2021. Photo Wil Linssen.
After extracting the bike from the muddy puddle, Greg, Clive, Davy and Adam wrestle it upright to drain the water out of the low slung exhaust. Fortunately the AJP PR7 did not actually take any water into the engine and fired right back up afterwards. Wales. 2012. Photo Wil Linssen.

Marc offers JB a helping hand to muscle his Himalayan 450 out of the mud. Alston, Cumbria, UK. 2024.
Just a few miles into their Welsh Trans Euro Trail trip Clive's bike shudders to a halt. Adam is the trained mechanic and quickly identified that his clutch fluid had all drained out. It appeared that the rubber seals in the clutch system had all perished. A quick top up of clutch fluid from the garage and the guys were on the road again. Wales. 2021.
Thomas waits patiently while the condition of his hired Docker 50 is assessed in a roadside garage, Ouarzazate, Morocco. 2024.
Greg's KTM 450EXC has a little lie down on Long Cross, Cumbria. KTM EXCs are notorious for having poor side stands and Greg's is no exception. The result was a sheared bolt. England. 2023.

Chris takes a minute to recover after crashing his CRF300L on a rocky lane in The Lae District. The bike had taken quite an impact and sent Chris forwards over the handlebars. Fortunately no lasting damage to man or machine. England. 2023.
It's not often you see Adam's BMW G310GS on the deck, but this rocky trail cut into the side of a mountain pass in the Pyrenees got the better of him on this occasion. Spain. 2022.

Wil and his KTM 690 take a breather over Simonburn Common. England. 2020.

Prior preparation prevents piss poor performance. Noel takes a minute to apply the PPPPPP rule as he lubes his chain after a mid trip wash in Spain. 2022.
This small piece of broken metal was almost a show stopped for Wil. The electrical system of the newly installed rally tower on his KTM 690 would not fire up. This burnt out fuse was the culprit. A simple trailside fix. Spain 2022.
Rupert uses cable ties to strap the carbon rally tower together on his Husqvarna 701. A short while earlier the bike had tumbled at an awkward angle, shearing the carbon tower from its mounting point. A lot of cable ties later and he was back on the road. England. 2023.
Rupert noodles on the cable tie fix of his broken Husqvarna 701 rally tower outside a bunkhouse in the northern Lake District. It's surprising how creative it can be fixing bikes whilst out in the wilds. The fear of a recovery van and early end can be very motivating. England. 2023.
Chris inspects his vintage Husqvarna after it stops running on Simonburn moor. An innocuous spill resulted in the bike cutting out and nothing that Chris did could get it going again. A terminal end to the day. Chris and the bike was pushed, pulled and towed to the nearest road to await recovery. England. 2022.
Ryan steadies the bike as Chris strips down the carburettor to try and get it running while stranded on Simonburn moor. England. 2022.
Michael adjusts his Honda CRF300L in the rain near Westgate. England. 2023.
Ryan's Husqvarna FE350 balances on timber without it's front wheel in the car park of Wooler Youth Hostel. Ryan had noticed his front wheel was flat before heading out on the final day of a two day adventure in the Scottish Borders. The only option was to to change the tube. England. 2023.
Steel toe cap flip flops being used to break the tyre off the wheel rim in Ouarzazate, Morocco. 2024.
Ryan gets busy changing his front tube. With a little practice swapping out a punctured tube can be done in about 15 minutes, though it is a skill best practiced back home in the garage. England 2023.
Greg's KTM 450EXC leans against Adam's BMW G310GS high in the Pyrenees. Earlier in the trip the KTM's sidestand had snapped off. Whilst this is not a show stopper, it does mean that the bike can not stand up on it's own. At this campsite there were no walls or trees to lean on so rather than laying flat on the ground Adam kindly leant his BMW for support. Spain. 2022.
Local sheep make the most of a quiet road while the work commences on repairing a broken chain. England. 2018.
